Activist Simon Carvalho no more
PANAJI: Noted activist and ex-panch of Sancoale, Simon Carvalho, passed away on December 1, at 2 pm at SMRC Vasco after a brief illness. He was 75.
He was instrumental in many agitations along with MLA and ex-Tourism Minister late Mathany Saldanha and Fr Eremito Rebelo. He actively participated in the agitation of Meta Strips, Zuari Oil tanks and Regional Plan. During these agitation he was even arrested and sent to jail. He fought to safeguard the interest of his village Sancoale and Goa.
He is survived by his wife and three sons. Funeral will take place on Dec 4, at 4 pm at Sancoale Church.
