PANAJI:
The process of withdrawal of nominations will be undertaken on Monday. A total of 7,647 nominations have been received by the State Election Commission for the upcoming panchayat polls. Of these, 3,940 nominations were field from five talukas of North Goa and 3,707 were filed from the seven talukas of South Goa.
The scrutiny of the nominations was held on Friday and Saturday.
Meanwhile, the state government has issued an order appointing the outgoing sarpanchas as the administrators for 186 panchayats from May 28 till the new panchayat bodies take charge. The administrators will take charge on Sunday.
