After the North Goa Zilla Panchayat chairperson Kartik Kudnekar was asked to resign, the South Goa Zilla Panchayat chairperson Survarna Prabhu Tendulkar is also likely to be changed.
According to sources from BJP, it has been decided to change the ZP chairperson on completion of one year.
“But since the South Goa ZP chairperson’s post is reserved for women, the selection of the next chairperson has become difficult and that is why the chairperson has not been changed so far. But the South Goa ZP chairperson will be changed sometime soon,” said a BJP leader.
There are eight women among the 25 ZP members in South Goa.
It may be noted that a few days ago, Kartik Kudnekar resigned as North Goa Zilla Panchayat chairperson and Siddesh Naik, son of Union Minister of State for Tourism Shripad Naik, is likely to replace Kudnekar.
