SANGUEM
While motorists and commuters between Curchorem and Sanguem have had to face the major hurdles on account of potholed roads along route, they now have to encounter the problem of stray cattle on the road.
The stray cattle have been seen squatting or standing on the road, especially near the Waste Treatment Plant at Kharkhatiaghati, and near the Government Polytechnic at Cacora.
A large number of stray cattle occupy a major portion of the road, forcing motorists to proceed on the wrong side and risking their lives of being struck by oncoming vehicles.
Incidentally while traffic police are posted on a daily basis at least at two locations along the 7-km-long stretch of road between Sanguem and Curchorem, no attempts are being made to remove the stray cattle from the road.
