Fire engulfed a ground floor apartment at Fatorda on Monday morning, destroying property worth around Rs three lakh.
Fire Officer Gill D’Sa informed that smoke was seen billowing from the closed apartment before the fire brigade was called for the firefighting operation.
He said the fire is believed to have started from the refrigerator, which was on even though the apartment was closed, with the occupants staying in the UK. The fire is believed to have spread to the kitchen and damaged a motorcycle parked inside.
