State Tourism Minister Manohar “Babu” Azgaonkar during a meeting with Zhu Chen, Mayor of Lishui, Zhejiang Province, Eastern China and his delegation at the Paryatan Bhavan on Wednesday evening proposed furthering of tourism ties with China.
The ten-member delegation led by Zhu Chen is in Goa as part of their four-day official visit to India.
Lishui, a beautiful tourism hub in Eastern China (Zhejiang province) is a haunt for Indian tourists, and Minister for Tourism, Azgaonkar and and Zhu Chen, Mayor of Lishui on Wedneday expressed eagerness to boost tourism ties between the two regions. During the interaction today, short documentary films on Lishui and Goa were presented to both sides.
The Director, Department of Tourism, Govt of Goa, officials of Department of Tourism and Goa Tourism Development Corporation were also present.
Zhu Chen said that he was overwhelmed by the warmth and hospitality extended to them by the Goa Tourism Department. He described Goa as a well developed State and was mesmerized by the natural beauty Goa had to offer in addition to other aspects.
