The agriculture officers on Friday inspected various areas in Cotigao village, which got flooded last Saturday night.
According to sources, a team of officers visited about 40 sites in and around Cotigao to assess the losses suffered during the flash floods.
Agriculture department's Soil Conservation engineer Vijanan, Canacona ZAO Chandrahas Dessai and junior engineer Mahendra Pagi inspected the sites in the presence of Cotigao Sarpanch Daya Gaonkar and others.
It is learnt that 28 of the sites have been found to have suffered damages.
Some retaining walls of paddy fields and other agricultural land have been broken and washed away. This loss is however different from what farmers and agricultural families have suffered.
