Air India to begin weekly Goa-Dubai flight from Nov 14

VASCO

In a major move that will benefit Goans travelling to and from the Gulf, Air India will start a weekly Goa-Dubai direct flight from November 14.

When contacted, Goa Airport Director Gagan Malik confirmed that Air India would operate this Goa-Dubai flight every Sunday and it would give a further boost to international flight operations from Goa Airport.

"This is an approved schedule as of now but we cannot say how long these flights will continue to operate, as it depends on the Covid situation as well. As of now, these flights will run on routine and we cannot comment further on the period of operation of these flights," said Malik.

When asked to comment on the arrival of chartered flights to Goa, Malik replied: "We have not received an application for slots from any charter flight operator at Goa Airport as of now.”

“Given the Covid situation across the world, we cannot comment on how the season will be in Goa or whether charter flights may come to Goa. I cannot comment on charter flights as of now, till such time these operators apply for slots at Goa Airport," said Malik.
