"I will appoint the consultant and also get the work done. Sidhanath Parvat has been notified as a tourism spot. We have proposed to carry out street light illumination from Top Cola Junction to Shree Siddhanath Temple located at the Siddhanath Parvat", said Ajgaonkar.
He was responding to Shiroda MLA Subhash Shirodkar who questioned on whether the State Government would appoint a consultant with a time bound programme for the development.
In a written reply, the Minister also informed that Goa Tourism Development Corporation had appointed Space Ace, a project management consultant in November 2014 to propose a holistic plan for the development of tourism in Ponda Taluka. However, not much progress could be achieved and the same has lapsed.
"May be there were some issues like availability of funds because of which it has lapsed. But I intend to restart it", assured Ajgaonkar.
Shirodkar also questioned the Minister over development of hinterland tourism in the State in view of lakhs of tourists visiting the State.
"Tourism policy and master plan is in progress. All these things have been included in that. We have appointed KPMG as the consultant for preparing tourism master plan. We will consider all stakeholders while preparing it," informed the Tourism Minister.
