The health minister on Tuesday assured to station a 108 ambulance at the Aldona primary health centre and also explore the possibility of starting a dialysis centre at the PHC.
“The government is trying to provide all facilities in the health centres. As per the request of the local MLA, a 108 ambulance will now be permanently made available after 6 pm at the Aldona primary health centre,” the health minister said.
He said there was another request from Aldona MLA, Glenn Ticlo on starting of dialysis facility at the primary health centre.
“We are trying to outsource dialysis so that maximum people are covered. I have received requests from several other MLAs to start the dialysis facility in their respective health centres. I will study the issue in totality and find a way to start this service in this PHC too,” he said.
The health minister was addressing a gathering at a function to facilitate frontline workers at the Aldona primary health centre.
Applauding the dedicated work done by the health workers during the pandemic, the health minister said the hard work and contribution put in by all the doctors, nurses and the other medical staff during the peak of Covid outbreak was unparalleled.
“We can never forget the work done by the health staff during the pandemic. They have put their lives at risk and worked without fear. I don’t think anyone can forget their contribution,” he said.
The health minister said all the contract staff appointed in the health department during the pandemic will be taken care of by the government.
“Ours is a responsible government. All the nurses and MTS staff who were appointed on contract during the Covid will be given justice in the next three months,” he assured.
All the doctors, nurses and non-medical staff attached to the Aldona primary health centre were felicitated at the hands of the health minister.
Aldona MLA, Glenn Ticlo, Health Officer Dr Pritam Naik and other officials were also present on the occasion.
