Many areas in Bardez will have no power supply in the morning session of Saturday to facilitate urgent repair work along the High Tension power line.

Entire constituencies of Aldona, Porvorim and Saligao will have no electricity from 9 am to 2 pm on July 29. Candolim too will not have power during the same time.
An official handout from the electricity department said the power shutdown has been arranged to carry out urgent maintenance and repair works on 33KV Porvorim I & II feeders.
Power department, Executive Engineer, R V Dessai informed that work has been taken up on the main line from Tivim to Nachinola sub-station. "Since the same line continues to Porvorim and Saligao feeders, some work will be attended to along the line," Dessai said.
He said some jumpers and conductors will be replaced along the line as part of the repair work.
Meanwhile, residents of Aldona and surrounding villages continued to suffer due to constant power cuts and fluctuations for almost two weeks.
Social media has been flooded with jokes and creative write-ups on the series of power cuts witnessed in Aldona, as locals began to vent their frustrations.
Local MLA, Glenn Ticlo was even not spared,
as consumers and his political opponents took pot shots at him for the relentless power cuts.
