All four gates of the Anjunem Dam were opened on Saturday to release excess water on account of heavy rains in the area, but there was no threat of the Valvanti river overflowing and posing a threat to homes along the riverbanks.
Water level at the Anjunem Dam rose to 93.18 metres as around 107 mm of rainfall was recorded at the dam site on Friday night.
WRD officials on Saturday released all four gates of the Anjunem Dam and released 15 cms of water. The officials said the release of water did not cause any floods in the area.
Water level has also risen at the Amthane Dam and excess water flows over weir and into the Nanora river.
