CANACONA
Stating that the internal roads of Agonda are in bad condition, Deputy Speaker and Canacona MLA Isidore Fernandes has assured to repair all the interior roads in Canacona.
Fernandes after he undertook a tour of Agonda village to see the conditions of some of the internal roads of Agonda said, "The main roads in every village are good enough, but indeed the internal roads which people often use for their day to day movement are in bad condition. There are six village panchayats in the Canacona constituency, and all the internal roads should have been attended within the first one and half years of elections, but it could not be done mainly due to the paucity of funds. There were further delays as contractors' payments remained unpaid due to overlooking by engineers. Now the issues are settled and even fresh estimates are prepared and approved."
Fernandes also accompanied by PWD (Roads) Junior Engineer.
"We had specially come to see the road conditions, we saw that most Agonda internal roads are bad and need immediate attention. Similarly, we are striving to resolve the water supply issues in the whole of Agonda village. People are very critical of water supply problems in Agonda. Water supply engineers have failed to address people's problems even though they are informed time and again. We have taken a serious view of unsolved water supply issues and are working on fixing them."
Fernandes also urged Agonda villagers to bring to his notice the discrepancies by officers concerned in redressing peoples issues and assured to get them resolved.
A few other works in the village will also be taken up in a few days, Fernandes informed.
Former Agonda sarpanch Pramod Phaldessai, Canacona BJP Mandal President Nandip Bhagat, social worker Agnelo Fernandes, were also present when Fernandes took the village tour at Parvem.
Fernandes also informed that the PWD minister along with all concerned engineers will be in the constituency on Monday and will meet people at Loliem-Polem panchayat hall at 10.30 am.
