Saying that tender for proposed six-lane new railway over bride at Rawanfond will be floated soon by the Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC), Leader of the Opposition and Margao MLA said the entire road network of Margao city will be hot-mixed in the coming days. The Margao MLA also hoped that the government would soon commission the S Goa district hospital.
He was speaking to the media after inaugurating hot mixing of roads at Colmorod near South Goa District Library costing Rs 3.5 crores.
PWD engineer Vivekanand Dessai and contractor Jog Constructions were also present.
Kamat further said that the overall developmental works in Margao are already in progress, pointing out that an overhead water tank at Monte Hill is ready and will be commissioned once the pipeline network is put in place ready in a month’s time.
He said the beautification work on the southern side of the Konkan Railway station is already in progress, adding that the road from Raviraj Hotel to Rawanfond Circle will also be taken up for beautification.
The tender for construction of the new six lane railway overbridge at Rawanfond will be floated soon by GSIDC Kamat informed.
Work of desilting of various nullahs in Margao has been taken up, and a cleanliness drive on the importance of keeping the city clean will be launched soon.
The Margao MLA also made a fervent plea to the city households to take sewer network connection and help the PWD make the underground sewerage system fully operational in the city.
