As the BJP gets a beating in the elections in five states, allies including the independent members supporting the government have advised their big brother BJP to learn a lesson from the result and take corrective actions in Goa before time runs out. Going one step ahead, MGP has advised BJP to treat allies
properly.
An ally of the BJP in Goa, the Goa Forward Party (GFP) has said that the results in five states especially in Chhattisgargh, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh is a wake up call for the BJP. Party leader and TCP Minister Vijay Sardesai said that BJP had not done anything concrete on issues like mining. “The government has not done enough in terms of action. If this continues, what happened in these three states could also happen in Goa,” he said.
The other coalition partner MGP advised its big brother in the coalition government to keep good relations with its allied partners. PWD Minister Sudin Dhavalikar said that even though BJP has done a lot on the development front in these states, the BJP failed to keep good relations with its allies. “We will certainly take an open stand on this after some days,” he added.
Revenue Minister and Independent MLA from Porvorim, Rohan Khaunte said that the result especially in three states is a reflection of bureaucracy decides everything.
This is an opportunity for BJP in Goa to take corrective measures. Everything cannot be decided by bureaucracy. People hold public representative accountable”, said Rohan Khaunte.
With the results of the this five states it is predicted that the coalition partners with BJP in Goa will be given more importance by the BJP.
