Almost 9,000 vaccinated in State since January 16

With the first phase of Covid-19 vaccination drive almost drawing to a close, it was learnt that a total of 8,929 Health Care Workers and Front Line Workers have been vaccinated in Goa since January 16.

On Wednesday, the Directorate of Health Services informed that 260 HCWs were vaccinated in North Goa including 148 at Goa Medical College and Hospital and 112 at Manipal Hospital.

PANAJIRaya Chodankar, father of Goa Congress president Girish Chodankar, on Wednesday, succumbed to Covid-19. The 82-year-old, who had been hospitalized at Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim on January 17, was among the two Covid-related deaths recorded in the State on Wednesday.The Chodankar family has requested all to pray from home for the departed soul while informing that the funeral will be held by maintaining strict Covid protocol.The other deceased person, a…
