Ambelim stresses on recovery of revenue arrears

MARGAOrrThe meeting also resolved to provide sanitation facilities at certain points to put an end to open defecation. rThe first gram sabha chaired by Dennica Correira saw members seeking the status of the house tax arrears from both the commercial establishments and households. rThe members also asked the Sarpanch to display on the notice board the total tax arrears due to the panchayat body by both -- the commercial establishment and individuals. rThe Sarpanch told the members that there are a many tax defaulters, both commercial establishments and individual households, adding that the panchayat would start a drive to recover the tax arrears.rOn the question of sanitation, the sarpanch pointed out that three places in the village has been identified as probable points of open defecation, will get the toilet facility in the near future.
