The collective of youth and green activists #AmchemMollem has come out with a green manifesto for the upcoming polls central to which is the demand for scrapping the three linear projects in their current form which cut through protected forests in and around the Mollem Wildlife Sanctuary.
The collective which spearheaded the agitation against the three linear projects said the manifesto is a collaborative effort involving citizens associated with the Amche Mollem campaign, youth groups and experts in various fields.
The manifesto lists out at least a dozen demands related to environment protection in each of the following areas of the State: forests, along the coast, freshwater eco-systems, open natural ecosystems, agrarian ecosystems and human settlements.
The green manifesto has also listed some demands for society and in matters of governance.
The collective has uploaded the green manifesto on an online petition platform Change.org and has appealed to youth groups, civil society organisations, NGOs, professionals and the general public to access and endorse the manifesto.
