Anniversary of Tivim Assn in Pune
PANAJI: The Tivim Association, Pune will celebrate its 70th anniversary with a musical-dinner at the Poona Goan Institute (PGI) in Pune on November 26. Rt Valerian D'Souza, Emeritus Bishop of Pune will be the chief guest.
Richard A Fernandes, president of the association said that the Tivim Association, Pune was formed in 1946 by Tivimcars who had migrated from Goa to Pune for jobs. The association was formed to help fellow Tivimcars find jobs, accommodation and education facilities and continues this endeavour to this day.
The 70th annual social will also have a live band in attendance followed by buffet. Scholarships to students will also be awarded and there will be tambola and games for children. The Tivim Association Pune has 122 registered members and 131 dependents.
