Drunk tourists made headlines on the opening two days of Sunburn. While two young Indian tourists were rushed to the hospital due to alleged intoxication on the first day, another Sunburn visitor “fell ill’ on the second day and was rushed to the hospital by an ambulance stationed at the site.
Not only did the first day of the Sunburn Electronic Dance Music (EDM) festival conclude dramatically at 10 pm, but the event also saw two young Indian tourists being rushed to the hospital due to alleged intoxication.
A video that went viral showed these girls were visibly unable to stand properly while the party was underway on Thursday night. They were transported in 108 Ambulance to North Goa District Hospital where doctors kept them under observation for a few hours, and subsequently discharged them.
“The two girls were accompanied by their family (to the Sunburn venue). They were intoxicated…The NGDH discharged them today (Friday) after the required treatment,” Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO-Anjuna) Jivba Dalvi said while denying the presence of drugs.
Another visitor “fell ill’ on late Friday evening and was taken to hospital in an ambulance. Reason for the illness was not known whether its drugs or alcohol intoxication as police refused to speak unless the man is examined by doctors.
5 employees held for stealing entry passes worth Rs 82 lakh
PANAJI: The Goa police arrested five persons working for Sunburn organisers on charges of stealing 600 passes worth Rs 82.50 lakh.
Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO-Anjuna) Jivba Dalvi said that organisers had filed a complaint against their own employees “ Shivam Chari, Mahesh Gawas, Manjit Gawas, Yashin Mulla and Siddhanagouda Hanchinal, accusing them of stealing the expensive tickets. The stolen passes worth Rs 60 lakh were recovered from the accused thereafter.
