A Kerala-registered transport truck became the latest vehicle to crash into the paddy fields next to the narrow stretch of NH66 at Canacona’s Barcem on Sunday.

The truck that had arrived from Karnataka was heading to Margao with a consignment of fertilizers. The accident has caused damaged to the standing crops and leakage of oil from it has potentially caused further damage.

The accident narrow stretch from Gulem to Balli has been blamed for several accidents taking place in the area.
