PONDA
MGP leader and Marcaim MLA Sudin Dhavalikar has taunted BJP saying they should make ‘one nation one party’ or should not touch other party MLAs, if they have strength of workers.
He has said that if such trend of switching parties for ‘money’ goes on then it will pose danger to regional parties.
Speaking to media persons on the sidelines of a programme in Ponda, Sudin said that there is rumor that money power was used to lure the MLAs in recent political development.
“I don’t know if this is true. If it is true then definitely it poses danger to regional parties. This should be stopped,” he said.
Referring to the recent political developments in the state when 10 Congress MLAs joined the BJP, Sudin said that it is an irony that such things are happening in the state which has 90 per cent literacy.
“Goa is different from other states. We have high literacy and we are educated. But it is irony that such things are happening here. Now voters should be cautious and wake up to change stop these defections,” he said.
“MGP has always opposed defections. Now I feel that it is high time that anti-defection law be made stricter. I appeal to the members of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha to think this over and restrict the defector from contesting for the next six years,” he said.
When asked for his reaction on the fact that both Goa Forward and MGP, once allies of the BJP, have been removed from power, Sudin said that BJP president Vinay Tendulkar has stated that they have dropped Goa Forward ministers on the direction of central leadership.
“If this is the thing then they should have ‘one nation one party’ policy. There will be no other party then,”
he said.
‘Where is Vijai’s G6 now?’
PONDA: MGP leader Sudin Dhavalikar has said that Goa Forward president and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai has gone 25 steps backwards after he was removed from the cabinet.
“I am told by BJP leaders that Vijai Sardesai had obstructed by leadership (to become chief minister) opportunity. Where was his Group of six (G6) when MGP was removed from the coalition or even now when he has been dealt the same fate?” Sudin asked.
“Vijai should understand one thing “ that he can never become like me,” said Sudin .
