Aquem man killed in Partagal road mishap

A 43-year-old man from Aquem-Margao died, after his Harley Davidson motorcycle he was riding rammed against a car on NH-17 road at Partagal on Sunday evening.

According to Canacona Police, Kapilay Shet was proceeding from Karwar towards Margao on his Harley Davidson motorcycle (GA-08 Y-3789) when it hit an oncoming car (JH-05-BB-0218), which was proceeding towards Karwar, at a slight curve on Partagal slope at about 4 pm. Motorcycle rider Shet died on the spot.
According to sources, due to the impact, the rider was thrown on the roadside alongwith the motorcycle which caught fire. Fire personnel were summoned to extinguish the fire, as Shet lied motionless on the roadside, before he was shifted to CHC-Canacona.
Sources alleged that the motorcycle was on fire while negotiating the Partagal slope towards Canacona and Shet reportedly lost its control, before it hit an oncoming car. TGN
The body was shifted to Hospicio in Margao, informed Canacona PSI Prashal Dessai.
