Carmona Sarpanch Sandra D’Costa informed that the panchayat  at its meeting on Saturday has decided to reject the Reliance Jio’s  application for NOC since the company had already erected the tower  without obtaining the NOC.
Moreover, she said the panchayat meeting has also decided  to issue a second show cause notice to Reliance Jio as well as the owner  of the building, to show cause why action under the provisions of the  Goa Panchayati Raj Act should not be initiated against them for the  violations.
A large number of anxious villagers also attended the  meeting to find out the decision of the panchayat body given that the  gram sabha held in late 2015 had resolved not to grant permissions for  mobile towers in residential areas.
