MARGAO
The gram sabha of the Aquem Baixo village panchayat on Sunday has not only vetted the panchayat drive against the roadside gaddas at Rawanfond, but resolved not to allow the gaddas again at the site in the future.
The issue was a subject matter of debate at the gram sabha chaired by Sarpanch Danny Fernandes on Sunday.
In fact, gram sabha members said a firm no to any request to allow the gaddas back at the roadside at Rawanfond. In fact, the gram sabha members showed their hands to convey a message loud and clear that the road side should remain free from gaddas.
The Aquem Baixo village panchayat led by Sarpanch Danny Fernandes had last month cracked a whip against the illegal roadside gaddas at Rawanfond by removing the illegal structures with police protection.
Meanwhile, the gram sabha has decided to scout for suitable land to house a fish market in the village.
