In an interesting development, State BJP President Vinay Tendulkar on Saturday demanded to know whether BJP leader Rajendra Arlekar is of the opinion that the decision taken by the party national president Amit Shah to admit Babu Ajgaonkar and Deepak Pauskar into the BJP fold was wrong.
When the media drew attention of Tendulkar to the unhappiness expressed by leaders like Rajendra Arlekar over the midnight political drama, he made it clear that the local unit of the BJP had sought permission from the Delhi leadership before admitting Babu and Pauskar into the party. “Has Arlekar made any statement saying that the decision taken by Amit Shah to take Babu and Pauskar is wrong. We had received permission to take the two MGP leaders into the party from our national president Amit Shah. Shah is the BJP national president and there’s no other leader higher than him,” he added.
He also denied there are any differences between the cadre and all those who have joined the party in recent times, adding there’s no difference between the original and the duplicate.
