Three local attackers arrested, one is absconding

The tourists with the help of the locals were able to catch three of the accused, who were later handed over to the police and placed under arrest, while the fourth one was able to flee and is currently absconding.
According to Old Goa Police, the Ghodekar family were returning back to their home in Vasai-Mumbai after holidaying in Goa when they were attacked by the four armed men “ Vishal Golatkar, Lawrence Dias, Suraj Shetye and another person, all residents of Merces. The first three accused have a history of past crimes against them.
The complainant, Lahu Ghodekar informed that before checking out of a hotel in Merces, the Ghodekar family was having breakfast in a local restaurant, where one of the accused Dias was also present.
“While having breakfast, I accidentally brushed my hand against the hand of the accused who started abusing me,” Ghodekar informed while stating that he even tendered an apology for the same, but Dias warned that he will return back to take revenge.
Ghodekar then informed that as the family of around 50 persons was proceeding back home in the bus, Dias accompanied by the three other accused stopped the bus near Pai Clinic and directed the bus driver Anand Ghuge to alight while snatching the keys.
The four accused then went on the rampage by breaking the glasses of the bus with stones and wooden sticks, due to which many occupants inside suffered injuries.
They then caught hold of the other bus driver Shivaji Shelke and assaulted him with kicks, blows, wooden sticks, causing grievous injuries to him.
The male members of the Ghodekar family rushed to the rescue of the driver and managed to catch one of them,
