Art and Culture Minister reappointed as KA chairman

Minister for Art and Culture Govind Gaude has been reappointed as the new chairman of Kala Academy.

The director of art and culture issued an order appointing Govind Gaude as chairman with immediate effect.

Gaude was first appointed chairman of Kala Academy after then chairman late Vishnu Wagh had suffered a stroke in 2017.

Gaude has the task to repair and renovate the Kala Academy building. The work was supposed to have been completed in February 2022, but was slowed down due to assembly elections and the code of conduct.

“Completing the renovation of Kala Academy is my priority, and I will offer the best infrastructure to Kala Academy,” he said.

Traffic officers told to enforce ban on use of non-ISI helmets

PANAJISP Traffic S M Prabhudesai has directed all traffic enforcement officers to strictly enforce the ban on the use of non-ISI helmets by two-wheeler riders."During the course of enforcement, if any two-wheeler rider is found to be using a non-ISI helmet, it may be treated as riding without Helmet,” states a note issued by the SP Traffic on April 19.The use of substandard helmets does not offer adequate head protection in the event of a motor vehicle accident.As…
