Asphalt not available for hot mixing FL Gomes Road: Carlos Almeida

Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida has said that the hot mixing works on F L Gomes road is pending because the asphalt required for the hot mixing is not available.   

 “I had inaugurated the works of hot mixing of the F L Gomes road and the same is pending. I have followed up with the contractor and I also called him up on Saturday to know the status, since people are approaching me with a request to commence the works soon and complete it at the possible earliest,” Almeida said.   

“He has informed me that the asphalt is not available. I have requested him to take up the works on the road on top priority as there should be no inconvenience caused to motorists and pedestrian moving along this road,” 

added Almeida.  

It may be recalled that Almeida had inaugurated the project of hot mixing of the road between IOC junction and St Andrews Church in the presence of Rajendra Dicholkar, President BJP Vasco and other officials of PWD Department in the month 

of March.   

Almeida had said that the project that was a long pending dream of Vasco and that the road was very important in the traffic movements of Vasco and being used by heavy vehicle and that he had plans of making the road as one of the best roads in 

Goa   

The project was taken up at a cost of Rs 2.15 crore that including widening, repairs of road drainage, raising of sewerage chambers and hot mixing of entire road length of around 3.6

 kms.    

Almeida at the time had said, “Works of side widening, repairing of side drainage and raising of sewerage chambers is already complete. Works on hot mixing will begin in April 2019.  I request residents and offices along the entire stretch of the road who intend to take any road cutting activities like water connector or sewage connection to finish before 7th April after which we will begin the works on the hot mixing of the 

road.”
