AVH treats case of industrial injury
MARGAO: Margao-based Apollo Victor Hospital (AVH) successfully treating a 26-year-old man suffering from severe injuries due to an accident at work.
The patient was brought to the emergency department or the Polytrauma Centre of the hospital due to heavy load landing on him. He suffered from broken thigh bones, a crushed ankle and chest injury. The patient was in shock and was immediately checked by Dr Shane D’Silva, consultant orthopedic surgeon. The vitals were stabilized and he was operated upon his ankle. The patient was further stabilized in ICU for 3 days following which both his thigh bones were fixed and the patient had a speedy recovery and was discharged in less than a week.
Apollo Victor Hospital has a 24-hour polytrauma team comprising of consultant in emergency medicine, orthopedic, neuro surgery, general surgery and plastic surgery.
