The Mother Goa-Goenchea Lokancho Awaaz and United Goans Foundation have decided to field social activist and Dramapur-Sirlim panch Domnick Noronha as its candidate for the Velim Assembly seat in the ensuing election.

At a joint media briefing, United Goans Foundation President Aashish Kamat said the UGF will extend full support to foundation member Domnick to contest the forthcoming elections from Velim. “The UGF will always remain committed to its cause of protecting Goa and the members," he said, while making an appeal to the people to support their candidates.

President of Mother Goa-Goenchea Lokancho Awaaz Irish Passainha said Domnick has been working tirelessly for the cause of Goa in Velim constituency. “UMG-GLA will give full support to Domnick. We call upon the voters of Velim constituency to repose faith and vote and elect him to the Legislative Assembly," Irish said, while assuring that Domnick will tirelessly work and deliver the wishes of people and help in protecting 'Mother Goa'.

In his address, Domnick said he has decided to contest the election because of the lack of commitment and concern shown by the parties and individuals, who have been aspiring to contest from Velim constituency. “As part of my vision, I will ensure that the Regional Plan is prepared as per the plans prepared by the gram sabha. I will work for better health amenities, including the upgradation of the Chinchinim health centre and get a new power sub-station to cater to the villages of Chinchinim, Sarzora and Dramapur-Sirlim," Domnick said.
