Tulshidas stakes claim for BJP ticket in Cortalim

CORTALIM

Stating that he is also in the fray for the BJP ticket in Cortalim constituency, former Sancoale panch and South Goa State BJP executive member Tulshidas Naik said he had staked his claim for the ticket.

“Alina's and my name are in the fray for the BJP ticket. If Alina is denied ticket, then I automatically stand a chance for the ticket,” Naik told The Goan, adding that he had been a grass root worker of the BJP since 2002.

The party is in the process for shortlisting candidates and once the candidates' names are shortlisted, the names will be forwarded to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, who is Goa-desk in-charge for finalisation of candidates, Naik said.

Incidentally, Naik came third at the 2015 Zilla Panchayat elections although Sancoale ZP seat was allotted to MGP under an alliance with the BJP.
