Union Minister for AYUSH Sarbananda Sonowal on Saturday said that the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) which will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday will add value to Goa’s tourism brand and be a big boost for medical value travel.
The Minister who is in Goa to attend the World Ayurveda Congress said: “Goa is a globally attractive tourist destination and attracts crores of tourists every year. The All India Institute of Ayurveda will be a big boost for Goa in terms of promoting medical value travel.
Sonowal, who hails from Assam was addressing an event held at the Francisco Luis Gomes garden in campal organised by the society of Assamese living in Goa to commemorate the martyrs during the Assam movement.
The minister credited Modi with raising the brand value of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy) by instituting a separate ministry when he took office in 2014.
