YOG GURU'S MANTRA FOR SUCCESS

* Complete the task you take up. Do not leave it half-done
* Give it your all. Remember, low risk equals low returns
* Do not let your ego get the best of you
* Innovate. No matter what field you are in, if you innovate, success will be yours
* Do not depend on destiny or luck. Rather put in the work.
* Quality is important. Don't do cost cutting when it comes to your employees, your customers or your services

PANAJI: Goa fest 2018 kicked off with a bang on Thursday with Patanjali Ayurved's Baba Ramdev expounding his mantras for brand success, life lessons, jokes, and harsh doses of reality.
Opening the festival as keynote speaker on Day 1, Baba Ramdev dived deep into how everything, from knowledge, emotions, actions, expertise, experience, skills, innovation, research, resource, and even waste can be converted into wealth.
"It all depends on what each one does with the resources available to him," he announced, adding "I am a farmer's son. That is my humble background. But I asked myself, 'How can I contribute to my country?' From farming to retailing, I haven’t studied anything, but experience is a great teacher. Today, one acre of land gives us returns of Rs 5-10 lakh, that too without the use of harmful pesticides or chemicals."
Swathed in a saffron loincloth, the yoga guru and the man behind one of India's fastest-growing FMCG company did not shy away from taking potshots at multi-national companies and maintained that the secret behind the success of Patanjali as a brand was a combination of low prices, quality product and always telling the truth.
“I believe in universal justice. If you try to cheat the public, you might grow for 10 years tops. But what will you do after that?" he asked in his inimitable style taking on the taking on MNCs by their horns. "Even advertising today is full of lies and fluff. Nobody is talking about what is in the product itself. What does a boy flirting with a girl have to do with toothpaste," he asked.
As for the future of Paatanjali Ayurved, Baba Ramdev revealed that the company would be foraying into categories like packaged milk, bottled water as well as garment manufacturing very soon.
"People keep on asking when we are launching Patanjali jeans, so we have decided to launch garment products catering to kids as well as fitness wear for men and women by next year," the 52-year-old yoga guru informed, adding that they were also going to be expanding into other countries as well.
From theatrics that included walking on his hands on stage to eye-popping abdominal exercises, Baba Ramdev kept the audience engaged and in splits for over an hour as he concluded Day One of the seminar series at Goa Fest.
The speaker line up for the remaining two days include visionaries and game changers from across business, sports, media and the entertainment sectors.
Day two (today) will feature sessions by Bollywood star Sidharth Malhotra, child artist Sparsh Shah, former South African cricket legend Jonty Rhodes, Cameron Worth of SharpEnd, and Union Cabinet Minsister for Information and Broadcasting Smriti Irani.
The knowledge seminars on Day 3, April 7 include sessions by Indian tennis player Sania Mirza,Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Samuel Akesson (Forsman & Bodenfors), Wain Choi (Chief Creative Officer at CJ K-Valley), Amelia Conway and Ramaa Mosley (Adolescent) among others.
Goafest 2018 is being held from April 5-7 at Grand Hyatt, Bambolim.
