The new 2023-24 academic year will kick-start with schools and higher secondary schools commencing classes on Monday in the backdrop of the State adopting the new National Education Policy (NEP) at the foundation level for school education and in the first year of undergraduate level this year.
Director of Education, Shailesh Zingde, said all schools will reopen for the new academic year on Monday morning, barring the foundation level and level 1 which will begin from July.
Some of the Higher Secondary Schools, which have not yet completed the admission processes and filled up all the seats may also not commence classes from Monday.
"In some HSS the admission process is still not complete. Commencement of classes in these schools may be delayed by a week. It is usually the case every year and colleges prefer to delay starting classes as it will avoid students who get late admissions from missing out," Zingde said.
