CANACONA
Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant visited Canacona late Sunday evening, did a photo-op on Manohar Parrikar Canacona Bypass Road (MPCBR) and asks BJP to prepare from now itself for the upcoming 2024 Loksabha elections.
Interestingly, the Chief Minister’s visit to Canacona in the late evening and particularly in the absence of Canacona MLA and GLA Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar raised a few eyebrows. (Tawadkar is reportedly on a tour to Maharashtra).
However, Chief Minister put the growing suspicion to rest stating his visit is part of Seva Sushashan which is taken up on completion of 9 years of PM Modi’s completions for a period of 1 month, before asking the karyakarta/cadres to start preparing for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls early.
"We should win the South Goa seat hands down and Canacona should lead by giving the largest share of votes to BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Start preparing now, and don't wait for the last moments, Canacona should lead the BJP win by giving maximum lead to make the hands of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi even stronger."
Tawadkar's a known close aide Vishant Gaonkar proposed a vote of thanks. He assured the Chief Minister to clinch the South Goa seat, with a massive lead with the help of Canacona mandal and MLA Tawadkar.
Incidentally, the Chief Minister reportedly posed for photos at two spots, first at the starting point of MPCBR at Char-rasta and later at Maxem at the picturesque site on MPCBR and spoke to the mandal members. BJP is likely to highlight the major developmental works completed in various parts of the Country, including the Manohar International Airport and Manohar Parrikar Canacona Bypass Road.
Accompanying the CM, Canacona Municipal Council Chairperson Ramakant Naikgaunkar, Ex- CMC Chairperson and Councillor Simon Rebello, Canacona BJP Mandal President Vishal Desai, Secretary Divakar Pagui, Mahila Mandal President Bharati Bandodkar.
