MARGAO: The Colva police have registered a case for alleged sexual assault against a resident of Baga for having sexual intercourse with a lady when she was a minor.
The lady complained that from November 2021 till date at Benaulim that accused person Akash Lamani, aged 24 years, a resident of Baga developed friendly relationship with her while she was a minor.
She further alleged that on the pretext of marriage, the accused allegedly had forceful sexual intercourse with her on different occasions adding that she was assaulted and threatened with dire consequences by the accused when she resisted him.
The police have registered a FIR under 376, 376(3), 323, 506(ii) IPC, Sec 8(2), 8(9) of Goa Children's Act and Sec 4, 8 of POCSO Act.
