Bandora's initiative on garbage

Bandora's initiative on garbage

PONDA: The Bandora Panchayat, consisting of 11 wards, will soon start door-to-door collection of garbage.

Sources informed that the panchayat has decided to make the village free from the garbage menace.

The panchayat recently handed over 1,500 kgs of dry garbage to the Department of Science and Technology, which sent it for processing.

Presently, the panchas have taken keen interest to collect dry garbage and handover it to the panchayat. Later, the local body sends it to the Department of Science and Technology.

“We are planning to start door-to-door garbage collection by first week of November, provided we get labourers for the work. Getting labourers has become a major problem,” a pancha said.
