Amidst the Covid-19 scare, Deputy Collector Kapil Phadte said a joint site inspection would be held on holding the Bodgeshwar zatra in Mapusa.
“The collector has issued permission to set up stalls at the festival. We will be holding an inspection with officials of the municipal council and the committee members. We will also carry out inspections daily and follow whatever remedial measures need to be taken,” Phadte said.
He appealed to people not to crowd at the temple site and maintain the mandated social distancing.
He further disclosed that another meeting is scheduled with the police, traffic cops, fire personnel, electricity officials.
“We will have a brainstorming session to decide ways of controlling the crowd and ensure all protocols are followed so that the zatra is held peacefully and as per the MHA guidelines,” he said.
