He also said that the political scenario in the State is expected to change within the next eight days.
Velingkar was addressing over 1500 youth at the North Goa Youth Convention organised by BBSM at NGPDA Ground, Panaji.
Overwhelmed by the response of the youth, Velingkar said that it was the beginning of BJP’s downfall.
Addressing the youth, Velingkar said, “They feel youth like you can be lured by giving Rs 100 worth free talktime. They feel this can make you happy and in turn you, who have the right to vote, will bring BJP to power once again.”
He also alleged that BJP has hired nearly 3000 persons to participate in all their ‘Vijay Sankalp’ rallies. “These people are hired so that they can attend their rallies one after the other and they are being paid Rs 600 for every rally,” he said.
Speaking earlier, BBSM leader Fr Mousinho Athaide said that protecting the mother tongue would in turn protect the culture. He also appealed to both the Christian and Hindu communities to come and work together in the interest of regional languages.
