“The beautification project work was pending due to necessary permissions and changes which were needed in the beautification project work. GTDC will start the work within three to four months,”
said Cabral.
It may be recalled that The Goan had recently highlighted the beautification project of Shri Chandreshwar Bhootnath temple’s surrounding and efforts to make it a tourist destination.
When asked about the project follow up, Cabral said the project costing above `5 crore was pending due to permissions/NOCs, which were not obtained from the previous Devasthan panel, but now the GTDC has got it. TGN
Sudhir Raut Dessai, treasurer of Shri Chandreshwar Bhootnath Devasthan Committee, told The Goan that officials from the Devasthan and GTDC had talks in the matter.
“After some suggestions from the Devasthan committee, an NOC was granted to GTDC to undertake the beautification work. The foundation stone will be laid for the project shortly. MLA Cabral has promised us that the work will commence soon,” said Dessai.
