Saligao MLA Kedar Naik inaugurated the beautification work of Vithal Rakhumai Devasthan at Saulem-Pilerne done by the Pilerne-Marra panchayat in the presence of Pilerne Sarpanch Sandeep Bandodkar, Panch members Ajay Govekar, Santosh Bandodkar, Karan Govekar, Brenda Vaz, Pramila Govekar and the locals.
While speaking on the occasion Saligao MLA Kedar Naik stated that a temple is a place of worship and its surroundings need to be clean and serene. The panchayat deserves appreciation for taking the initiative to beautify the surrounding of the temple. He was glad to see that the Panchayat is doing a lot of social services too. "Panchayat deserves praise for conducting beautician courses for women. Women are the backbone of their families and hence they should stand on their own feet. Women have proved beyond any shadow of a doubt that they are equal to men in every field. The time has come for society to change its mindset and pave the way for the growth of women. The panchayat should continue conducting such courses so that women can earn and support their families," said Naik.
The sarpanch Sandeep Bandodkar mentioned that there was a demand from the committee of the Vithal Rakhumabai Devastan to beautify the surrounding of their temple. Hence panchayat has beautified the area around the temple by fixing the short blasted pavers and the roadside retaining wall was constructed by spending around Rs 30 Lakh said Bandodkar.
During the occasion, MLA Kedar Naik distributed certificates to the participants of the beautician course. Pilerne Sarpanch Sandeep Bandodkar also handed over a cheque of Rs 25,000 to the Committee of Vithal Rakhumai Devasthan for promoting the local youth in dramas, tiatr, singing etc.
