In more trouble for former chief minister Digambar Kamat and Benaulim MLA Churchill Alemao, the Enforcement Directorate filed a prosecution complaint against the duo in the infamous Louis Berger bribery case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
The ‘prosecution complaint’ was filed before the North Goa Sessions Court which is also the designated Special Court. Both Kamat and Alemao have been notified to appear in court on the morning of August 28.
The ED had opened the PMLA probe against Kamat and Alemao way back in 2015 after the Crime Branch had booked the duo under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. Alemao was arrested by the Crime Branch and spent time at the Colvale jail, but Kamat had secured anticipatory bail from the Sessions Court.
