CURCHOREM
Naqueri-Betul panchayat has requested the Town and Country Planning (TCP) department to make necessary changes in the Regional Plan 2021 for Betul village.
After the locals recently raised strong objections to the regional plan for their village, the panchayat in a letter requested the TCP to include changes and suggestions made by the locals.
It may be recalled that at a recent Gram Sabha at Betul, the locals resolved to scrap the Regional Plan 2021 for Betul-Naqueri villages, claiming that things shown in the government's version of regional plan are not appropriate. The locals made some suggestions and urged the panchayat members to include the suggestions in the Regional Plan 2021 for Betul-Naqueri.
Speaking to The Goan, Betul-Naqueri Sarpanch Krishna Sawant Dessai said as per decision taken in the recent Gram Sabha, the panchayat has sent a letter to the TCP. “We have asked the TCP to include suggestions in new Regional Plan 2021 of Naqueri-Betul,” said Dessai.
“The village roads are shown as district roads of 25 metres wide, which are impractical, while the villagers demanded to have 3 metres wide village roads. Major infrastructure like health centre, football ground, community hall, village library, etc, has been requested to be shown in new Regional Plan 2021 of Betul village,” he said.
“We have also sent 1/14 plan of the village with necessary suggestions by the local people. The panchayat had sent the letter to the TCP on January 1, but till date we have not received any response,” said Dessai.
