After a video of the unit manufacturing plastic products went viral on social media, Bhironda Sarpanch Nitin Shivdekar along with panch member and the panchayat secretary inspected the unit.
They noticed that some machinery deployed to manufacture the plastic products had emitted foul odour.
Speaking to reporters, Shivdekar said the NOC was issued to the furniture manufacturing unit and not to manufacture plastic products.
“Two years go, the panchayat had sent a notice to the unit owner stating that the manufacture of furniture was not as per panchayat guidelines and it should be stopped immediately.”
“However due to political pressure, the unit owner continued operations at the unit. However, manufacturing of plastic products is totally illegal and the NOC issued to this unit will be revoked shortly,” the sarpanch.
