A 26-year-old two-wheeler rider from Malbhat-Margao lost his life in a self-accident after his vehicle hit stray cattle squatting on the road at Zariwado-Davorlim in the wee hours of Monday.
Due to the impact of the accident, the rider, Rohit Sanjay Kavlekar, sustained severe bodily injuries. He was rushed to the South Goa District Hospital, Margao, where the doctor on duty declared him brought dead.
The post-mortem examination report has certified the cause of death as "cranio-cerebral and thoracic injuries comprising fracture of the base of the skull and blunt force injury to the chest with laceration of the lung causing haemothorax, as mentioned vide Injury No. 1, leading to haemorrhage and shock."
Meanwhile, an unidentified person, believed to be a beggar, was killed in a road accident at Aquem-Baixo on July 25.
