The BJP has called for an emergency meeting of its legislature party in Goa on Monday even as uncertainty prevailed over the health of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar who is being treated at GMC.

The BJP legislature party is slated to meet at the party headquarters at Panjim on Monday morning at 10.30 am.

Earlier on Sunday, the Advocate General of Goa, D Lawande called on the Governor Mridula Sinha at her official residence at the Cabo Raj Bhavan in Dona Paula.

Meanwhile, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane has appealed for restraint and urged  people “not to speculate” on the health of Chief Minister Manohar  Parrikar, who has been hospitalized at the Goa Medical College in  Bambolim since Saturday night.

Rane visited the GMC on Sunday and insisted that Parrikar is stable  and has been admitted only for observation. He also took to Twitter to  post updates on the chief minister’s health and advise restraint from  speculating.

Rane tweeted on Sunday night at 9.36 pm: “Met the Hon’ble CM  @manoharparrikar ji today evening to check up on his health. Dr Garg who  managed his case in #AIIMS, met him and made changes in his medication.  He is holding onto fine on his parameters, is stable and active.”

In his first tweet, earlier in the afternoon, Rane had also tweeted:  “Called on the Hon’ble CM today morning, he will be kept under

observation till tomorrow. But most importantly, he is doing well and  his parameters are satisfactory. Happy to see him active and alert.  Appeal to the people not to speculate, instead, pray for his speedy  recovery.”
He followed this tweet with another in which Rane turned his ire on  the media for what he called attempting to mislead the people saying: “I  would like to clear the air by saying that I visited the hon’ble CM, he  is absolutely fine. It’s a request to the people, not to pay heed to  rumours, as there is no authenticity of facts. It is a clear attempt  made by media platforms to mislead the people.”
Parrikar leads a minority government with support from multiple and  disparate coalition partners and independent legislators. Its stability  is heavily dependent on his persona, besides his political and  governance skills and Ministers are known to be eager to dispel  speculation over his health.
