The party general secretary Damodar a.k.a. Damu Naik slammed a section of the politicians at GF convention, over certain issues raised by them. Naik said GFP has no existence and termed it a “mushroom”. “It has no candidates to field in all constituencies in the State. It has no organisation and yet some of its leaders feel it will come to power,” Naik remarked.
Reacting strongly to the appeal of a GF leader not to elect a stable government, Naik said this is indicative of a “low tendency” of those who made such an appeal. The party claimed that such an appeal also indicates the mindset of such leaders, who only want such intstability to exist in order to act as power brokers and amass wealth out of such political brokerage.
Claiming that the ST community was taken for granted by some politicians, he said after the BJP government was elected to power, the government formulated many schemes for the welfare of the STs.
Naik said some GF leaders have no right to speak about Special Status as some of these leaders were allegedly connected with land dealings to sell land in Goa to individuals from outside the State.
He said the BJP has strongly rallied behind the PM on his demonetisation step, while appealing to banks to open extra counters and give more facilities to the people who visit it in connection with exchanging their old currency notes.
BJP South Goa president Sarvanand Bhagat and senior vice-president Prakash Velip also addressed the press conference.
