BJP mandal woos Reginaldo, offers support for his victory

MARGAO
With the BJP setting its eyes on Curtorim in the 2022 Assembly election, party leaders have said local leaders, including Congress MLA Reginaldo Lourenco are free to join the ruling party, saying the party will work hard for their victory in the coming election.

Addressing the media on Monday, local party leaders including Bhavesh Zambaulikar, Anthony Barbosa and others spoke on various issues, including strengthening of the Curtorim mandal ahead of the coming election. Zambaulikar informed that the party workers will support the candidate finalized by the party in the election.

When the media sought to know whether the BJP will be ready to field Congress MLA Reginaldo Lourenco as the party nominee in 2022, local leaders were categorical in saying they will all work for the candidature of the sitting MLA.

Curtorim BJP Mandal ST President Anthony Barbosa congratulated the PramodSawant-led BJP government for introducing many schemes for the welfare of the common man.

Barbosa pointed out that the free tap water scheme unveiled by the Chief Minister on Independent Day will go a long way in benefiting the common man.

He also thanked the Chief Minister for announcing a slew of projects for the benefit of the ST community. “The Tribal bhavan, research centre for the ST community and a tribal museum will go a long way in preserving and protecting the rich cultural heritage of the tribal community”, Barbosa added.

The BJP Curtorim Mandal further pointed out that the mandal is gearing up to shortlist volunteers to implement the National Health Campaign in the constituency. Dr Bhagat pointed out the volunteers will work in their respective areas to help the people in times of pandemic and endemic, besides emergencies.
