BJP national prez asks temple committees for support

MAPUSA

Claiming that temple committees had always supported the BJP in the past, BJP National President J P Nadda on Wednesday sought their support yet again for the upcoming assembly polls in the State.

He was addressing temple officials in Mapusa in the presence of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Union Minister Shripad Naik, State BJP President Sadanand Tanavade, Speaker Rajesh Patnekar, Rajya Sabha MP Vinay Tendulkar, MLAs Nilkanth Halarnkar and Dayanand Sopte and others.

"BJP is the only democratic party in the country. The party has always given justice to all and never divided anyone, politically. Temple committees have always supported the BJP and I request you to do the same this time as well," said Nadda.

"Goa was known as a centre of drugs and crime before, but after BJP came to power, the crime rate has gone down and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant deserves praise for this," he added.

Sawant claimed that Goa is a complete tourist destination but tourists tend to look only at its beaches.

“That's why the government is developing hinterland and spiritual tourism,” he said.

Shripad Naik, Sadanand Tanavade and Dayanand Sopte also spoke at the event.
